For the longest time, Vin Diesel has been associated with the "Fast and the Furious" franchise and as his new movie "The Last Witch Hunter" nears premiere, the star talks about making the film, and the passing of Paul Walker.
Latest news revealed that as "The Last Witch Hunter" nears its release date, the star of the movie shared details about how it was to make the film, after co-star Paul Walker had passed.
In an interview with the Associated Press, the 48-year-old actor shared that making "The Last Witch Hunter" helped him grieve for the loss of his friend.
"Death was a huge theme last year," Vin Diesel said. "There was something therapeutic about playing this role after going through (Walker's death)."
"The idea that someone immortal could be so melancholy. 2014 was a tough year for me in some ways - a lot of ways," Vin Diesel added.
"Playing a character that was masking his sorrow - his loss - was very appropriate for the time, because that's what I was doing in real life with the post-'Furious 7'," added "The Last Witch Hunter" star.
Vin Diesel stars as Kaulder in "The Last Witch Hunter" coming out in theaters this Oct. 23. CinemaBlend revealed the synopsis of the action-adventure movie.
"Armies of witch hunters battled the unnatural enemy across the globe for centuries, including Kaulder, a valiant warrior who managed to slay the all-powerful Queen Witch, decimating her followers in the process," the synopsis read.
"In the moments right before her death, the Queen curses Kaulder with her own immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Today Kaulder is the only one of his kind remaining, and has spent centuries hunting down rogue witches, all the while yearning for his long-lost loved ones. However, unbeknownst to Kaulder, the Queen Witch is resurrected and seeks revenge on her killer causing an epic battle that will determine the survival of the human race."
Apart from Vin Diesel, "The Last Witch Hunter" also stars Elijah Wood, Michael Caine, Rose Leslie and Julie Engerbrecht. While fans are excited to see Vin Diesel in another film not in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise, the same media pointed out "While 'The Last Witch Hunter' admittedly sounds a little corny and cheesy, and its story seems to have taken inspiration from around half a dozen other efforts, we all know what to expect from a Vin Diesel film."
Following "The Last Witch Hunter," Vin Diesel will be working on a war comedy film titled "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" to be directed by Ang Lee slated for a 2016 release date.
