One Direction has released a new song and it's inspired by Harry Styles' ex-lover, Taylor Swift.
Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Harry Styles have recently dropped the latest track out of their upcoming "Made in the A.M." album. 1D's fifth studio album is slated for release on Nov. 13.
Billboard reported that the latest One Direction song, entitled "Perfect," is an upbeat tune co-written by Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson along with Bunetta, Shatkin, Jacob Kasher, John Ryan, and Maureen Anne McDonald.. The new track follows after the success of "Drag Me Down."
Niall Horan thanked their fans' overwhelming support for their newest song. "The reaction has been amazing all day so far," he tweeted. "Thank you."
Entertainment Weekly commented that this is the third song released from the band's new collection. However, it's only the second single in the album.
"To be honest, I think there are six songs that could be singles on here," Co-writer Bunetta previously revealed to EW.
According to HollywoodLife.com, the new One Direction song is rumored to be a response to Taylor Swift's "Style." The "Shake It Off" pop star is notorious for writing break-up songs about her previous flames and the lyrics to "Perfect" seem to point in her direction.
"And if you like cameras flashing every time we go out," the song's lyrics read. "And if you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about, baby, I'm perfect. Baby, we're perfect."
These lines definitely seem to reference the "Bad Blood" singer. In another report, the publication revealed that Harry Styles confirmed the new One Direction single on Oct. 9 and Liam Payne teased fans about it during their concert in Birmingham last Oct. 12.
Harry Styles might just be giving Taylor Swift a taste of her own medicine. The One Directioner is said to be the inspiration behind "Style" and "Out of the Woods," among others.
