George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date could be in April next year.
MNR Daily reported that the author intends to release the next installment of his "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series before the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" begins. "GoT" season six is said to commence on Apr. 3, 2016.
There are conflicting reports on George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date. According to Yibada, the English manuscript is ready and is being translated into Polish. News Everyday, however, reported that the author still has to finish the book.
If the speculated "Winds of Winter" release date in April would prove true, George R.R. Martin has only a few months to complete the highly-anticipated book. The author admitted that having "WoW" published before "GoT" season six airs next spring was important to him.
"I wish it was out now," he told Entertainment Weekly. "Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done."
He also revealed that the book will have a big plot twist on a long-time character. "This is going to drive your readers crazy but I love it," he admitted.
"I'm still weighing whether to go that direction or not. It's a great twist. It's easy to do things that are shocking or unexpected, but they have to grow out of characters. They have to grow out of situations. Otherwise, it's just being shocking for being shocking."
A "Game of Thrones" coloring book has been unveiled. It is developed by George R.R. Martin himself and is being released by American publisher Bantam, Business Standard reported.
The book is said to have 45 illustrations based on Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series. It is slated for release on Oct. 27.
