Halle Berry is a very talented woman.
Her talent recently got her the lead role on the CBS drama, “Extant,” and her ongoing success, which is rumored to be the cause of her break up with husband Olivier Martinez, according to sources for People Magazine.
“Olivier is complaining that he and Halle are not spending much time together and that she is working too much," an insider told the magazine months before the break up.
The split between the former couple reportedly came soon after Berry got her role in the drama. Although the series didn’t work out, the Oscar winner was given another role on “Legalese,” which was written by “Good Wife” executive producer Steven Lichtman, according to the NY Daily News.
Berry made The Hollywood Reporter’s list of Top Ten Highest-Paid Actresses back in 2008, and was reported to be making $10 million per movie, according to People.
“Everything about her emasculated him: She was beautiful, iconic, employed and the breadwinner,” the source told People.
“They were living off of her and that entitled him and it enraged him — there was a duality there."
Martinez gained recognition on his 2002 role in the movie “Unfaithful.” He has had several guest roles on television shows, including “Revenge” and “Texas Rising”.
The two stars, who reportedly married in 2013, announced they would be splitting on Tuesday. Both are reportedly asking for joint custody of their 2-year-old son, Maceo-Robert.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce," the couple said in a joint statement.
“We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus for what is best for our son (Maceo).”
