Every year, Motor Authority editors drive luxury cars and the most ferocious performance cars to let readers know which ones are the best and this year's test drive included two muscle cars good enough to earn the sports-car label, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS, according to MA.

This year's competition included other exceptional cars as well, including a Mercedes-AMG GT S, the new Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V, a Lamborghini Aventador SV and the fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata. At the end of the day, the car that left with the "Motor Authority Best Car To Buy 2016" title, was the Chevy Camaro SS.

The winner is a "drool-worthy Corvette-sourced" LTI V-8, which means it runs on 455 horsepower and identical numbers when it comes to torque, 455 lb-ft. 60-mph times of four seconds is just within reach at the far end of the throttle pedal's swing, reported The Car Connection.

Meanwhile, the 2016 Chevy muscle car is the first to be built in the United States in more than a decade. GM is ending its fifth generation Camaro production in Canada. This comes shortly after launching the sixth generation production at the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant, revealed Torque News.

For the past few months, the facility has been very busy due to the Camaro being built alongside the Cadillac ATS, CTS and the V-Series versions. Since GM is expecting to sell a lot of Camaros and Cadillacs built in Lansing, the company is adding a little over 500 salaried and hourly jobs in Michigan.

"This is the result of the award-winning vehicles Lansing Grand River produces and the confidence GM has in our team to build world-class quality for our customers," said Lansing Regional Plant Manager Mike Trevorrow.

The hiring process for the third shift has already begun. When completed, the company will have a total workforce of approximately 2,300 men and women.

"This is an exciting time at LGR," shared UAW Local 652 President Mike Green. "We just added the Chevrolet Camaro to our vehicle line up and now we get to expand the UAW-GM family, which will bring the plant to full capacity. What a great way to start the New Year!"

General Motors and Chevrolet may possibly have a great year, as the 2016 Chevy Camaro SS may lead to record sales.
