The "Captain America: Civil War" Spider-Man character is described as "awesome."
Comicbook.com reported that director James Gunn praised the "Captain America: Civil War" Spider-Man character portrayed by Tom Holland in a Facebook Live Q&A with fans.
The "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director gushed about actor Tom Holland ("Billy Elliot," "In The Heart of the Sea"). "Tom Holland is off the charts awesome," Gunn said. "Off the charts. Truly. Hand to my heart, he's amazing."
James Gunn also revealed his thoughts on the highly-anticipated "Captain America: Civil War" film. "I saw 'Civil War,' and I think it's incredible," he admitted.
"It's one of the best Marvel movies ever, and I can't believe what a wonderful job the Russo Brothers did, and the cast."
James Gunn directed 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy." He will be returning to write and direct its sequel, entitled "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," which is slated for May 5, 2017.
Meanwhile, "Captain America: Civil War" Spider-Man actor Tom Holland revealed that shooting for the movie made him impatient for his own film. According to The Belfast Telegraph, the actor admitted his excitement while promoting his new movie "In the Heart of the Sea."
"Civil War will be a brilliant movie, a huge movie and I'll have the support of the success of that movie so that I can go on to my own," he told the publication.
"It was also a real eye-opener to what it will be like when I start my film. I think the problem with 'Civil War' for me was that it made me 10 times more excited to start on 'Spider-Man,' but we don't start for months so I've got to sit on that excitement for the moment."
Holland's "Captain America: Civil War" Spider-Man feature will be his first appearance as the character. He will have his own film, which is still untitled, which is due for release in 2017.
"It doesn't feel real to me, but my life hasn't changed," the actor revealed about being casted as the web-slinging hero. "I wear nicer clothes occasionally now, but that's about it."
