The undying love of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in "The Notebook" has left many fans thinking that it will also happen in real life when the two started dating.
The co-stars dated for four years, but their relationship ended in 2008. It was a mutual decision, but the actor felt he was blamed for their breakup.
"Women are mad at me. A girl came up to me on the street and she almost smacked me. Like, 'How could you? How could you let a girl like that go?' I feel like I want to give people hugs, they seem so sad," he told GQ Magazine. "Rachel and I should be the ones getting hugs! Instead, we're consoling everybody else."
Ryan Gosling is now a father to Eva Mendes' baby Esmeralda Amada, but there are still some fans hoping to see him reunite with Rachel McAdams. Even his uncle approves of his relationship with the 37-year-old actress.
"It sure seemed like [Rachel] was the one for him," Kevin Gosling told Heat.
Ryan's uncle also shared his experience hanging out with Rachel on Christmas back in 2006.
"We really liked her," he said. "We got to spend an evening with her, three or four hours. We sat drinking beers with her until two in the morning, laughing all the time. She didn't seem like a movie star at all. It was amazing how comfortable we were, just sitting around the kitchen table, talking."
Until now, Kevin Gosling admits that they still support Ryan Gosling's ex-girlfriend Rachel McAdams even if the actor is now in a serious relationship with Eva Mendes.
"We're going to see her new movie 'Spotlight' because we still like her, she's a great actress. Why didn't it work out? We don't really know," Kevin said.
The Hollywood heartthrob tried to keep a low-key relationship with Eva Mendes which started out rumors that the two are on the verge of breaking up. However, his latest interview could prove that Ryan Gosling doesn't need any other girl in his life - not even Rachel McAdams nor Emma Stone.
"I know I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with," he confessed.
Hello! Canada also asked the Canadian heartthrob what kind of girl he is looking for.
"That she's Eva Mendes," he said. "There's nothing else I'm looking for."
