Timofey Mozgov has just come off an injury and has yet to found his confidence out there in the court. It doesn't help that his name has been dragged into the NBA trade rumors just about every day.
This season, Timofey Mozgov is only averaging 6.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 0.8 blocks per game on 17.8 minutes per game. He lost his starting job to Tristan Thompson after almost single-handedly obliterating the Golden State Warriors' defense in last year's NBA Finals.
Dave McMenamin of ESPN suggested that Timofey Mozgov might have overworn his welcome as he was called out by Lebron James himself.
"I'm not sure where he's mentally. Only he knows that," James said following the Cavs victory over the Sixers, 95-85. "As a leader of the team, you just give him as much positive energy, give him as much positive notion about what he needs to do for our team. But at the end of the day, like I told you guys last year about Kev [Love], you can give a guy so much but at the end of the day, you got to figure it out yourself too sometimes. I think he's at that point."
For his part, Timofey Mozgov said that he's a professional and will always abide by the coach's decision.
"I'm a player, I'm always ready to play," he said. "It doesn't matter to me. He puts me in the game, I play. He doesn't put me in the game I don't play. Simple."
Suddenly, the NBA trade rumors surrounding Timofey Mozgov hold water as Adrian Wojnarowksi-the Yahoo columnist known for reporting inside information before everybody else-confirmed that the Cavs management has been offering the center around.
"The Cavs have started to make calls on the market for Timofey Mozgov, who could appeal to Western Conference contenders," he wrote.
