"Heroes Reborn" star Robbie Kay talks about the series finale and the cancellation of the second season of the series.
Robbie Kay played Tommy Clark on "Heroes Reborn." According to Spinoff Online, his character Evo was "an awkward teen with a mysterious past."
Apparently, it was revealed that Tommy was born as Nathan Bennet, Claire Bennet's son who was played by Hayden Panettiere, who was a major character from the original "Heroes."
Tommy has now a power to absorb abilities and adapt to them one at a time. With a solar flare coming to destroy the earth, Tommy's power might be the key to earth's survival.
When Robbie Kay was told regarding Tommy's lineage and the importance of his character on "Heroes Reborn," he said that "there was a lot that wasn't told to the cast."
"When I first started the project, I think a lot of things were still very much up in the air. There was a lot that wasn't told to the cast. I don't know if that was to maintain a shroud of secrecy or whether there were still things to be mapped out. As you know, everything is subject to change. I had a basic idea of Tommy's character," Kay explained.
"I knew he was going to be a significant part of the show regardless. With respect to his lineage, when we first started, I didn't know exactly how he was connected to other characters in the show, so that was something I learned further down," he continued.
As previously reported, "Heroes Reborn" will not be renewing for a second season. Reportedly, Robbie Kay was actually rooting for more seasons.
According to TV Series Finale, the original "Heroes" was cancelled by NBC after four seasons. Masi Oska of "Heroes" returned for a few episodes of "Heroes Reborn," and like Robbie Kay, hopes for more seasons.
Deadline also reported that the final two episodes of "Heroes Reborn" with Robbie Kay will be aired on January 14 and January 21 at 8:00 pm ET/PT.
