Director Ridley Scott continues to hype the fans for his upcoming sci-fi thriller and sequel to "Prometheus," "Alien: Covenant," with promises that it will top some of the Alien franchise's most terrifying scenes.

During a backstage interview at the Golden Globes, director Ridley Scott opened up about his intentions to aim a "pretty hard R" rating for "Alien: Covenant."

What could even excite the fans more is the promise Ridley Scott made about topping the infamous chestburster kitchen scene from the 1979 original "Alien" film.

"I always remember walking down the edge in Saint Louis when we were previewing ['Alien']," Ridley Scott recalled.

"I couldn't sit through the film one more time. I walked down the edge into the kitchen scene when John Hurt started to bring up his breakfast. That moment, I realized how pretty scary the film was... I felt a sense of responsibility that I had gone too far because it was extreme. I'm going to try and do that again this year, but much worse," the director added, saying with a suggestive impish smile.

According to The Independent, the "chestburster kitchen scene" involved Kane [John Hurt], where an extra-terrestrial beast [chestburster] exploded from his chest cavity and then dashed off. The scene became iconic because, according to the report, its brutality is unwincing. Ridley Scott, in his recent interview, said he would top this iconic scene.

Scott's recent statement may have just confirmed reports that "Alien: Covenant" will feature the origins of alien civilization, including the origin story of Xenomorphs. The "Prometheus" sequel reportedly will give more emphasis on the alien creature and will explain how the "beast" and "bio-mechanoid weapon" was created and for what purpose.

Hence, the xenomorphs will be put in the spotlight with their anatomy to be explored deeper and their four stages (the egg, the face hugger, the chestburster and the big boy) highlighted, as well.
