Spider-Man may enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe in "Captain America: Civil War" through Tony Stark.
In an exclusive report by Geek, it was revealed that Iron Man will play a pivotal role in making Peter Parker an Avenger. Apparently, Stark, who has unrestricted access to all S.H.I.E.L.D. files, took note of the young Spidey and his superhuman abilities.
A source told the publication that Tony personally goes to Peter Parker and recruits him. To seal the deal, it was said that Stark offers the teenager an advanced Spider-suit. Also, it helps that Peter looks up to the billionaire superhero.
"Peter started becoming Spidey because he grew up and idolized Tony," the insider revealed.
The website also noted that, since "Iron Man" takes place 10 years before 15-year-old Spider-Man is introduced in "Captain America: Civil War," it is highly likely that Peter Parker grew up with Stark dominating the news.
It was previously reported that the "Spider-Man" movie 2017 costume could be the "Iron Spider." Anthony Russo fueled the rumors further when he revealed that Holland's costume will be a "mixture of what people have seen before."
In an interview Collider, via Comicbookmovie.com, "Captain America: Civil War" directors Anthony and Joe Russo revealed that the upcoming film will be a darker film than "Winter Soldier."
"We think of 'Civil War' as a psychological thriller," Anthony Russo admitted. "It's a complicated movie and it divides these people you have known to have become a team, but like Cap and Natasha in this movie they're evolving into sort of a surrogate family for each other."
However, Joe Russo revealed that "Captain America: Civil War" will also bring in more laughs than its predecessor.
"There is a good portion of the movie that is much funnier than Winter Soldier because there are characters in that film who are funnier, who come from worlds where the tone is more comedic," he said.
