Bandai Namco has not announced a "Tekken 7" PS4 release date yet, however, new reports suggest Tekken 7 might get released on PS4 and Xbox One in 2016 Q1.

Here's the latest on "Tekken 7" PS4 and Xbox One release date, news, and updates.

According to Latinos Health, Bandai Namco's fighting game "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" would soon be released for arcade testing in Japan. The initial testing will begin on Feb. 12 and will end on Feb 14.

The test run would be held in Namco Sugamo in Tokyo, Round One Stadium Sennichimae arcade in Osaka and Namco's Hakata Bus terminal arcade in Fukuoka, reported Crossmap.

It is expected that if the initial test run for "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" turns out to be successful, the game will officially be released across arcades in Japan within a few months.

Previously, Bandai Namco had announced in October that the fighting game Tekken 7 would have PlayStation VR features when it arrives on PS4, reported Wired.co.uk.

A lot of fans were expecting that the new VR features might allow them to punch each other in the game, come its release date.

"When we announced that we're going to do something with virtual reality, people were like 'oh, so you're going to be playing in first person and hitting each other? That sounds like crap!,'" said Senior Game Designer Michael Murray clarifying fans' misconceptions.

As for what players can expect, Murray said "The only hints we could probably give is that 'Tekken' is ultimately all about the characters.

"You want to see the cool characters, the cute female characters like Lucky Chloe, and we have all kinds of customization for them and they have all these cool techniques that are motion captured.... something that would allow people to enjoy the game in that aspect maybe is about all we can say."

It was earlier reported that only popular "Street Fighter" character Akuma would be joining the latest update of the 3D fighter game "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" and that fans should not expect for more "Street Fighter" combatants in the "Tekken" series.

"Right now, Akuma is the only one we have planned," said "Tekken 7" senior game designer Michael Murray to PlayStation Lifestyle"Harada [Game Producer Katsuhiro Harada] and I have always been against guest characters because it kinda throws off the Tekken world and setting."

An official "Tekken 7" PS4 and Xbox One release date is yet to be announced.
