"Dragon Ball Super" episode 28 marked the beginning of the series' "God of Destruction Champa" arc.
Attack of the Fanboy reported that new content has been introduced in this week's "Dragon Ball Super" episode 28. The series seems to have jumped a few months from last week's installment.
"Dragon Ball Super" episode 27 showed the fight between Goku, Vegeta and Frieza. The Saiyan Prince and the Golden villain had an epic fight scene which was described as "more heavy and personal."
Episode 27 ended with Goku given another chance to attack Frieza. He powered up to his Super Saiyan Blue form and kills the Golden villain once and for all with his Kamehameha wave.
According to Kpopstarz, "Dragon Ball Super" episode 28 is entitled "God of Destruction of the 6th Universe. His Name: Champa!" It showed Goku and Vegeta training with Whis again on Beerus' planet. They were shown doing 50,000 push-ups with just one finger and wearing weighted clothing as Whis watched on.
Their training was interrupted as Champa and Vados, from Universe 6, arrive with a bang. Vados explained to Goku and Vegeta who Champa is.
Apparently, Champa is Beerus' counterpart, the God of Destruction from Universe 6. He is also the fat twin brother of Beerus. Vados is Whis' sister.
It was revealed in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 28 that the Earth in Universe 6 was destroyed by humans and their wars. Whis explained the multiverse theory to the viewers. Beerus is the Universe 7 God of Destruction and there are 12 universes in total in the series.
Meanwhile, Beerus keeps on teasing Champa, causing him to become upset. The two fight, as previewed in the "Dragon Ball Super" episode 28 trailer, and they emitted power that caused the whole planet to shake.
After Whis and Vados' intervention, the two Gods of Destruction then come to an agreement that fighting each other would not be beneficial. Instead, they decided to make a tournament.
If Champa wins, he is allowed to move Earth into Universe 6. Beerus accepts the terms since he could use the Super Dragon Balls that his brother has collected.
