Jimmy Fallon's fans have long been concerned about his nonstop injury news in 2015. Oftentimes, they even comment on his social media post to take care. But it was not apparently the same case when it came to some officials of NBC.
During the recent 2016 TCA Winter Press Tour, NBC Entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt was asked whether he has thought of reminding the "Tonight Show" host to take extra care after all his freak accidents.
"I have not, no," Greenblatt replied as cited by Entertainment Weekly.
Other network officials though reportedly had the chance to remind the former SNL cast member about watching out for himself.
"Sure," he told the audience during the panel as quoted by The Wrap. "We are always worried about his safety and health. Yeah, there's been conversations about that. But the stories are exaggerated."
It was in the same panel that NBC's Greenblatt also defended Jimmy Fallon's past injury news against the drinking problem rumors.
He pointed out that the "Tonight Show" that despite the accidents, Fallon was doing great, "in better shape" and "doesn't have a drinking problem that any of us knows about."
The drinking problem rumors swirled just last November following a string of freak accidents that began with getting his finger almost ripped off in June.
"He's a mess," a bartender told the New York Post at the time. "He likes to hang out and be the life of any party. When he's drunk, he doesn't care who takes a photo of him."
Though Jimmy Fallon has not addressed the drinking rumors directly following his injury news, "Tonight Show" insiders apparently have spoken back against it.
"He works 12-15 hours a day and is involved in every aspect of production," a pal of the host told Mail Online in November. "All of this work takes enormous focus and he puts on an exceptional show each night. It would be impossible to do this work if he were partying all the time."
