Perhaps the release date of "Mafia 3" is closer than we think since Take-Two Interactive just released some concept art for the game.

Although there isn't a lot of information given by the publisher when it comes to questions regarding "Mafia 3." Apart from some general gameplay and plot lines, fans want to know more about a game that is highly anticipated and is still waiting for an official release date.

According to Game Rant, the developers, Hangar 13, teased fans about what they would be getting once the game comes out. Some wonderful concept art were uploaded on the official "Mafia 3" Twitter account and have been unveiling more and more of the game's open world.

The upcoming game looks very different from the previous games in the franchise. It is most probably going to be a separate experience from the previous games in the franchise. "Mafia" was set in the 1930s and "Mafia 2" was set in the 1940s, but the newest addition will be going deep into the south in New Orleans back in 1968.

Players will assume the character Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam War veteran, who is on a mission to seek revenge for his friends who have been murdered in cold blood by the local mobs.

The game was rumored to be released on Apr. 26, 2016 based on an image that retailers Best Buy posted on IGN and Gamestop's pre-order game link. This is the first exact date speculated by fans. However, Take-Two Interactive had confirmed only saying the game would be released in 2016.

"No official release date has been announced at this time," announced 2K Games on PC Gamer. "It is common practice for retailers to list placeholder dates before an official release date has been announced due to the requirements of their operating systems."

"Mafia 3" is expected to be released some time after spring 2016 and will be available for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
