Altus' highly anticipated RPG "Persona 5" was set for 2015 release. Unfortunately, the game was rescheduled for summer 2016 release, according to Kotaku.
IGN also reported that the game has been delayed "in order to make sure the next iteration of the Persona series lives up to the expectations of fans."
Fortunately, this could be their final announcement of the game's delay. Persona Central reported of an advertisement on a Japanese retailer confirming the expected release date of the game.
The image was posted by the Japanese retailer Animate which shows the expected release date of the game while some merchandise related to the franchise are on display.
The official confirmation of the game's development was way back in 2012 with additional information that details the official platforms of the game: PlayStations 3 and 4. A game trailer was unveiled nearly a year ago along with the initial copies "Persona 4: Dancing All Night" as a separate Blu-ray disc, according to Anime News Network.
The poster promotion for the game greatly complements another promotion used by Altus. Gematsu reported of a teaser site last September 2015 and some fans could access the website by scanning the QR code that would reveal the location of other fans around the world, according to a separate report by Persona Central.
One of the notable features of Persona 5 is on its amazing graphics especially the cut scenes. Fans are in for a treat since Altus has tapped one of the most popular studios in Japan for creating such atmosphere for the game.
Production I.G. created these cut scenes and their mark on these videos are very clear as they have worked on popular anime projects such as "Ghost in the Shell" and "Blood: The Last Vampire."
The 2016 summer release has been confirmed for Japan. On the other hand, worldwide release for "Persona 5" is also expected this year with no confirmed date as of this writing.
