While Bandai Namco is yet to announce a release date for Tekken 7 PS4 and Xbox One versions, leaked screenshots of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" has surfaced online.
Long-time Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada has blamed the South Korean games rating board for the security slip.
"Before we export [a game], we have to submit the data to a review board that's connected to the South Korean government," Harada noted on Twitter, as translated by Kotaku. "However, every time--even though it's confidential information--the review board leaks info to the media. This rating board is the worst."
According to Kotaku, the word "saitei," which Harada used to describe the board, has many meanings. It can also be translated as the lowest or disgusting.
The leak was initially brought to Harada's attention when someone tweeted one of the leaked pictures of the game's character select screen to him and informed that the pictures were being sent around in South Korea, reported Gamespot.
Although Harada has blamed the ratings board for the leak, there isn't any confirmation that it was indeed the source of the leak.
It is to be noted that in light of the leak, Bandai Namco has officially released screenshots of the character outfits.
The South Korean games rating board is yet to comment on the leak issue.
Bandai Namco's fighting game "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will soon have a release date for arcade testing in Japan. The initial testing will start on Feb. 12 and will end on Feb 14.
The test run would take place in Namco Sugamo in Tokyo, Round One Stadium Sennichimae arcade in Osaka and Namco's Hakata Bus terminal arcade in Fukuoka.
"Tekken 7" for the PS4 was announced back in October, but there is still no word on an exact release date. This means that Tekken fans will have to wait a little longer for "Tekken 7" PS4 release.
