After FUNimation confirmed a 2016 release date for one of the most popular anime series, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, some fans then were apparently waiting for it to be released. But recently, a petition asking for a reboot is making a clamor in the online world.

Recently, "Tokyo Ghoul" aficionados all across the globe began an online petition on both iPetition and Change.org that are requesting for a reboot of the critically acclaimed dark fantasy anime series.

Solid fanatics have not been pleased with how FUNimation has so far handled the series and asserted that it is way too far from its original manga series by Sui Ishida, where the anime is based from.

In addition to that, MNR Daily reported that the season three of "Tokyo Ghoul" concentrates on the events from the "Tokyo Ghoul: re" manga.

Notably, the said manga only have 52 chapters, which apparently driven some fans to worry that the season 3 might eventually venture out of the manga story.

In any case, is the call to reboot successfully got enough support? Did FUNimation acknowledge and grant the reboot petition from some fans? As it seems that the online petition is undeniably plaguing the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3.

What's more, a report from Cross Map noted that "Tokyo Ghoul" will be a quasi-reboot instead that focuses on Touka Kirishima, a ghoul ex-waitress at Anteiku.

The report further reveals that the anime series apparently opt to shift the center of the story on Kirishima, as opposed to completing Ken Kaneki story, as it purportedly doesn't sit well with some fans.

Also of note is that Kirishma has already been established as Ken's training partner well in the anime and additionally, plays a critical port in the original manga.

Nonetheless, it is also worth noting that FUNimation has not yet commented on the said call to reboot appeal. Albeit no specific date has yet been announced, it is strongly speculated that the "Tokyo Ghoul" will drop at some point in Summer.
