Tool guitarist Adam Jones has revealed that their new album is going really well and that release of the record is expected this year.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jones shared the band's efforts on the upcoming effort and how excited they are on how everything is taking shape.
"Things are really flowing and going really well, and I'm just blown away at the stuff that's coming together," Jones said, reported Korea Portal. "I'm excited and can't wait for it to be done."
In another interview with Rolling Stone, the 50-year-old guitarist teased that some of the new album's tracks are really heavy, but assured that they will still sound like Tool songs.
"Our greatest strength is jamming and coming up with stuff," Jones said. "We're doing that really well now and I'm excited about everything we're working on. Some of it's really heavy, some of it's really complex and some is more atmospheric, but it's definitely Tool."
Furthermore, it was recently reported that Tool is currently busy making two new music videos for their upcoming album.
In a VIP Q&A discussion on Reddit posted by NSYK, Jones talked about the band's upcoming projects, reported Alternative Nation.
"Adam talked a lot about the process they were going through on the new album," the Redditor revealed. "No one asked about the progress, so I can't tell you what the status of that was."
The Redditor mentioned that the band was working on two new music videos. However, the source did not mention anything about the new album or its release date.
"What I did find very telling, however, was him talking about the progress they've made in producing the two music videos," he said. "It came out of him talking about using CGI vs stop motion work in Hollywood and his time as a visual effects artist. This made me believe they are very far along in their work on the album."
"He said two music videos that they were on the hook from the record company for, complained they only get an advance on the video and would likely lose money as it would be all over YouTube and Vimeo and not get traditional revenue and talked about different options for making money."
