Blizzard Entertainment's "World of Warcraft" has dominated the MMORPG landscape for over a decade now and "Legion," which is the sixth expansion, is slated for release this summer, according to Tech Times.
Since the game's launch, there are fans who have lived and breathed PvP and for the first time, PvP gear and PvE gear will be the same. This means no points for conquests and honors. The developer said that it will simply be gear.
Stats will no longer play a huge role in PvP like they currently do. When a gamer enters a battleground or an arena, all the players will have the stats of their gear nullified. It will be based on specialization and class and it will be replaced with predetermined ones. This creates an equal playing field for all.
Before "World of Warcraft: Legion", a raider or a beginning player would have a great disadvantage when experiencing PvP for the first time. What will determine the winner now will be skill and not gear.
Gear will also be playing a minor role but many longtime players are reportedly, not happy with Blizzard's proposal. It's a huge deal for PvP fans. Some say that removing PvP-specific gear, may rob players of a "rewarding sense of progression."
The developer said it will introduce a new honor system that allows players in "World of Warcraft: Legion" to unlock various rewards and PvP-specific talents.
"If one spec's Mastery is too strong in PvP, that's fine," said Blizzard in a preview of the changes. "We can just reduce the amount of Mastery they have. If a spec is too easy to kill, we can increase their Stamina. If a healer is having too much trouble keeping teammates alive, we can increase their Spellpower. In short, we can tune classes for PvP in a way that's exclusively focused on PvP."
Meanwhile, Blizzard Entertainment just celebrated its 25th Anniversary, reported WowHead.
The company is one of the biggest names in game development and was founded in 1991 as Silicon & Synapse, which was later changed to Chaos Studios. It was finally named Blizzard, in 2004 and the developer, is now owned by Activision Blizzard, revealed Gamespot.

As per "World of Warcraft: Legion" release date, it is reportedly set to be launched before September 21, 2016.
