One of the NBA's greatest shooters has been retired for more than 1 season now, but still, there is speculation of a possible comeback.
Ray Allen, the former Miami Heat, Boston Celtic, Milwaukee Buck and Seattle Supersonic did not come back to play after losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
In an article by cbssports.com, the deadly 3 point shooter spoke about his temporary retirement and the possibility of calling it quits completely. "I haven't said anything about that and I won't officially retire," Allen said. "Because if something came to the table, contractually and situational-ly, I want to be able to take a strong look at it. I don't want to be that guy that says he's retiring and then is coming back."
"I didn't miss it," he added. "I realized how much time I missed not being home with my kids. I probably missed it in the Finals. Watching Cleveland and Golden State play, it just seemed like an epic battle that required a lot of precision on the floor and that's when I felt, that was probably the only time that I felt like, 'Man, I should have been out there.'"
"It would be one thing if I played 10 or 11 years," he explained. "But playing 18, I got a lot out of it. I like the feeling of knowing I don't have to beat myself into the ground."
It's been reported by Sports Illustrated that Allen could be making a "He Got Game" sequel with director Spike Lee.
As per ESPN, Allen said he would love to do a sequel. "Sequels to most movies are always fluff and not as good as the first," Allen previously said. "But it's something we've been talking about for the last couple months. If we get a really good story line and are able to bring everybody back, then it would be something worth doing."
Experts believe that Allen could possibly retire permanently and focus on his family and a role in film.
