"Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" gets turned into a book just as fans had hoped. Will a movie version happen next?
The West End play, "The Cursed Child " has been turned into an e-book and will be released right after the opening night. This means that those who will not be able to see the production in London will be able to read it in the comfort of their homes.
According to Time, the script was written by Jack Thorne and was based on a story by J.K. Rowling. The story takes places nineteen years later in the "Harry Potter" wizarding world and will be published as an eBook by Pottermore and in hardcover by Scholastic in the United States.
The first printing of "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" will reportedly be a "Special Rehearsal Edition" which is the first version of the script. A "Definitive Collector's Edition" will be released later with the finalized version of the play. Scholastic already announced the release of the book via Twitter with an image of the book with a tentative book cover.
The original plan was just to have a movie production of the eighth story in the "Harry Potter" series, but massive public demand from the fans made the creators decide to release it in book form, as reported by Independent.
The story catches up with the wizard trio, Hermione, Ron and Harry, nineteen years after "The Deathly Hallow" book that ended in 2007. It tells the story of Albus, Harry's youngest son, and the struggle to deal with the weight of his family's legacy. Harry is reportedly working at the Ministry of Magic and is a father of three children.
"Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" will premiere on July 30 at the West End and the book will be released on July 31, which also happens to be the birthday of The Chosen One.
In other news, the upcoming "Harry Potter" spin-off movie "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" will be released in theaters on Nov.18, 2016. The film is based on a book by J.K. Rowling where a magizoologist Newt Scamander travels the world to write the Hogwarts textbook of the same title.
