A promotional video was released by One in their official website for their new anime, "Mob Psycho 100" set to be released this year.
According to Anime News Network, the anime will star Setsuo Ito as Mob, Takahiro Sakurai as Arataka Reigen and will be directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa ("Death Parade" Director) with a script written by Hiroshi Seko ("Ajin") and soundtrack from composer and director of "Ghost In The Shell" music, Kenji Kawai and Kazuhiro Wakabayashi.
The animation series will be produced by BONES, maker of Fullmetal Alchemist, Eureka Seven, Space Dandy, Blockade Battlefront among others.
Although it was revealed in the trailer released by One that the TV Anime is set to premiere in 2016, no specific date was given yet. One launched "Mob Psycho 100" on Ura Sunday last 2012 and in Shogakakun's Manga One application in 2014, Anime News Network added.
Since its Manga release, the 11th volume of the book was already compiled last December. "Mob Psycho 100" is inspired by "One Punch Man," also a recent television anime popular among Manga and Anime fans.
The protagonist in the story is "Mob," a boy who explodes once he hits 100 percent of his emotional capacity. He was called "Mob" because he is unnoticeable among other people. In the story, Mob tries to hide his psychic powers to live a normal life, but once his emotional level reaches 100, an unknown element overwhelms his entire body, the report elaborated.
The decision to produce a television series for "Mob Psycho 100" came from the readers' votes amassed by Ura Sunday. The show asked the readers to vote on which Manga series they would like to have a TV Anime version and "Mob Psycho 100" ranked first among the voted Manga series.
With this new development in line, fans of the said manga series and the "One Punch Man" as well, are probably eagerly waiting for the new TV adaptation to commence.
