Competitive World War II, multiplayer first person shooter "Battalion 1944," is reportedly coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation; no official release date has been announced just yet, according to Gamespot.
Meanwhile, United Kingdom-based developer Bulkhead Interactive, has reached its £100,000 funding target on Kickstarter. The goal was achieved in less than three days after the game was announced.
26 days were left in the game's campaign, but the throwback to classic "Call of Duty" and "Medal of Honor" surpassed expectations and goals, with supporters contributing over $180,000, revealed GameRant.
The team has pledged to invest their money as well, which is an extra £100,000 into the game. Anything they receive past the Kickstarter goal will be allocated to "soon-to-be-announced stretch goals."
Stretch goals are created after the initial target has been met. The "Battalion 1944" developer, is rumored to be targeting a March 2017 release date.
"Thank you for backing Battalion 1944," said Bulkhead Interactive producer Joe Brammer in a statement. "The team you're investing in are ready to build the next big first person shooter. We couldn't have done it without you, the community."
The game's main point of focus includes high visual fidelity standards, realistic environments, map variety that encourages visceral action, modern standards for animation, LAN support, dedicated servers and official servers for ranked play.
Bulkhead will update the game's overall shooter experience, but they still want to stay true to the World War II format. It is also currently being pitched on Kickstarter as a PC, PlayStation and Xbox One release.
Bulkhead Interactive is the result of Deco Digital and Bevel studios merging, their previous work include "Pneuma: Breath of Life," which is the first Unreal Engine 4 title on consoles, reported IGN.
