Jon Jones is getting ready to get into the octagon once again to prove he's the best in the light heavyweight division. But one of the most exciting fighters in UFC today might face some legal woes first before he could try to regain the title from Daniel Cormier.
According to TMZ, "Jones was pulled over in Albuquerque on January 31st and was cited for 3 violations -- driving without a registration, no driver's license and no proof of insurance."
While this might not be a big deal but his probation clause dictates that he should not break the law. If he does, he might serve his sentence behind bars.
Fortunately, the former light heavyweight champion could be getting things his way this time since he will not be formally charged for violating his parole terms. MMA Junkie reports, "the New Mexico Corrections Department, which monitors Jones, gave him three days' community service for failing to report the infractions (in addition to community service he was ordered to perform as part of his plea agreement). And he likely faces small fix-it fines for the tickets."
In response to the hullabaloo that occurred in the past few days with regards to his traffic problems, Jones posted a video on his official Instagram account where he takes aim at the media for making things bigger than what it should be. In the video, he was clearly upset since he's about to win the world title soon but everyone was talking about his traffic violation tickets.
Since Jones is in the clear to get to the right, UFC 197 is practically set. The match between the current and former light heavyweight division champions will occur on April 23 in Las Vegas according to the event's official website.
This should be a clash of two of great fighters trying to prove their worth inside the octagon.
