Following the delay on its release date, "Star Ocean 5" is now set to launch on March 31. According to Anime News Network, Square Enix, producer of the game, delayed the release to improve its quality.
By the time it is released in Japan, Sony will be releasing a "Star Ocean 5" model of PS4 console, the report added. Square Enix described the game as:
"STAR OCEAN, the epic, sci-fi RPG saga that takes players to the stars and beyond, makes its triumphant return with its forthcoming fifth installment in the series. The title is developed by tri-Ace, the celebrated studio behind each of the previous iterations, with character designs by Akiman (Akira Yasuda).
At this point in history, between the second and third games in the series, the Pangalactic Federation is nearing the fulfillment of its mission: Peace and order throughout the galaxy. However, the embers of conflict begin to stir once more on the planet of Faykreed, 6,000 light years from Earth, as a new story begins in the ocean of stars."
According to Movie Pilot, new characters for the game were unveiled namely, Emerson and Anne. Emerson was described as having a scary face yet straight-forward personality, an alcohol addict and a womanizer. During the battle, he uses his high-powered bow gun to shoot his enemies.
Anne, on the other hand, was described as a woman who travels with Emerson, who is intelligent and composed and fights enemies using variegated melee techniques and a girl who is fond of cats.
In addition to Movie Pilot's report, it was stated that the trailer unveiled looked good and is promising enough to actually assume that the quality of the gameplay will catch the attention of many players.
Since the release of the last installment, "Star Ocean: The Last Hope" for Xbox 360 last 2009, there was no major "Star Ocean" game that followed during the succeeding years.
And with the looks of the promising trailer that was revealed, it will probably have fans back on the game.
