Singer and former lead singer No Doubt Gwen Stefani has given an update regarding her new solo album.
According to theverge.com, Stefani is set to release "This Is What the Truth Feels Like"-her first solo release since 2006's "The Sweet Escape." Stefani released the track list via her Instagram account.
She said in an interview with Vulture that she didn't think about the latest trends in music when she made this album.
"The first season I was on 'The Voice,' I think there was something in me that was a little bit more open to caring about stuff like that, but I'm not there right now," she said. "I'm not really thinking about that. All I'm thinking about is that I made a record that is literally pure and honest and reflects exactly that I wanted to reflect."
"I haven't even considered what's out there or what's happening. It's weird to even think about that right now. I don't even know what's out there, I don't even care. It's fine. Whatever's happening, I just want to share the music and feel good about it."
She then spoke about how she loves working with Pharell. "He's all over my show," Stefani said about her co-judge on "The Voice."
"There are so many songs that we've done together. They're not just songs, they're huge moments. He's probably my favorite person I've ever collaborated with because he's very saintly, prophetlike. He has so much wisdom and so much positive energy and goodness, and he has a way of saying things where he really makes you think. So for me, he was definitely an angel sent to me to make me think. I love him."
Prior to this release, Stefani put out 2 singles "Spark the Fire" and Baby Don't Lie" but were not a commercial success.
