"The Simpsons" was mashed with Netflix's documentary series, "Making a Murderer" recently, showing Homer Simpson's wrongful imprisonment for the shooting of C. Montgomery Burns, according to Comic Book Resources.
Simpson's exoneration comes 18 years later, but his freedom was briefly enjoyed because he was arrested again and this time for the murder of Myrna Bellamy. The mash-up seems to make viewers ask, if Homer Simpson is really guilty or if he is a victim of an incompetent and corrupt Springfield Police Department.
New York Magazine and Vulture continues to put together great pop culture remixes, this time, re-imagining Netflix's hit documentary series "Making a Murderer," as an epic episode of "The Simpsons," revealed Uproxx.
Fans are said to be amazed at the shot-for-shot recreations Vulture was able to find, matching scenes out of the documentary series. The "amount of synchronicity" in the trailer is remarkable.
Viewers though may not forget, that the documentary series is not something to really laugh about. Steven Avery and Brendan Dassy are in jail for life, Teresa Halback is dead and a murderer may be roaming free.
Avery's lawyers have explained, that this event can happen to anyone in America. Somebody who does not have the resources to fight and hire a lawyer, can be accused of a crime.
The ten-part documentary first aired in Dec. 18, 2015, written and directed by Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi. The story is about a man from Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, who served 18 years in jail for the attempted murder and sexual assault of Penny Beernsten. He was exonerated in 2003 and arrested again in 2005.
He was convicted in 2007, for having a connection with the murder of a local photographer. The series was filmed over ten years and has generated a lot of controversies.
