DC Cinematic and Extended Universe has already brought and is bringing more heroes and villains to the big screen; and with the upcoming ensemble of Justice League, will it be enough to have only one super villain? Or will they battle a group of super villains?
Den of Geek! tackled this in its report, asking who will the Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, The Flash and Green Lantern be battling against in 2017's "Justice League Part One" and 2019's "Justice League Part Two."
According to the report, a lot of clues may have been laid out by DC. First, as evidenced by the trailers seen for "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor has found and acquired the corpse of Zod. The report speculates that Lex Luthor will be experimenting with the deceased Kryptonian and lead to the creation of the supervillain, Doomsday.
Hence, Den of Geek! suggests that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor will certainly not be killed off in "Dawn of Justice," and he may be continuing as a villain in the "Justice League" movies, with another massive villain by his side like Doomsday.
One interesting note, however, made by Den of Geek! is that the screening of "Suicide Squad" has made a lot more possibilities for "Justice League Part One" and "Part Two," such that the Justice League may be fighting multiple villains, an evil team, which of course includes Jared Leto's Joker.
"Lex Luthor could be the brains of the outfit, Doomsday could provide the muscle, and the less-stable baddies like Joker could function as a hero-distracting side strand of the gang," Den of Geek! wrote.
This is possible because in a report by Wired titled "'Suicide Squad' trailer turns villains into heroes, and back again," it highlighted that the assembly of villains may not be "heroes" forever as it is in "Suicide Squad." It added that while Jared Leto's Joker is a presence in the movie, the trailers make it seem that his involvement with the squad may be relatively minor.
