With the recent injury bug affecting the stars of WWE, it has been rumored that the show is trying to get wrestling "Hall of Famer" Shawn Michaels to return to the ring.  Recently, WWE is purportedly considering Michaels to be a guest referee for "WrestleMania 32."

Rumors that WWE contacted Shawn Michaels and offered a large amount for the retired star's return was brought about by the recent unfortunate injury bug that hit the wrestling scene.

With John Cena still recovering from his shoulder injury and Daniel Bryan recently announcing his retirement due to serious concussions, WWE seems to be filling a void with someone like Michaels.

Ric Flair talked about the issue on his Wooooo Nation podcast last January and said that Vince McMahon wants Michaels to surface from his retirement to fight for the 30-man main event of the Royal Rumble. Flair then pointed out that Michaels just won't agree to it.

"They want him so bad for Royal Rumble, but he ain't budging from that ranch down there in Texas," Flair said

Flair was apparently right, as Shawn Michaels was a no-show at the Royal Rumble.

However, it has been reported that WWE is still eyeing Michaels for WrestleMania 32, but this time not as a contender but a guest referee, according to Inquisitr. It is purportedly planned that Shawn Michaels will be the special guest referee in the main event of Roman Reigns versus Triple H and that the plan is to have the odds in favor of Roman Reigns.

Although he is now enjoying the retirement life with his family and may really be over wrestling, WhatCulture noted in their report that Shawn Michaels had mentioned in his latest autobiography about a financial problem that rooted from some bad investments and though Michael's have turned down the offers to fight, this guest referee stint might be an offer he finally can't resist for his possible WWE return.

WrestleMania32 is set on April 3, 2016, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, according to WrestlingNews.
