The NBA trade rumors continue as the New Orleans Pelicans continue to evaluate options on their veteran Ryan Anderson.

Anderson is arguably their second most valuable player next to Anthony Davis and since the current roster is not good enough to assist Davis, the team needs to see if they can get a worthy asset in exchange for him.

Pelicans team site The Bird Writes had a trade scenario where Greg Monroe would be exchanged for Anderson. Monroe is also available as per SB Nation, "Monroe's still young and hasn't lost any value he had as a scoring big man this summer," the article stated. "If the Bucks feel like he's not a viable part of their future anymore, keeping him only to look better about their initial signing of him is the sunk cost fallacy at work."

In the proposed trade, the Pelicans send Omer Asik to the Bucks. While Asik has been bashed by most sports scribes, the problem is that the Pelicans are looking for offense from him. Taking Anderson will provide that offense for them, and Asik can still be a rim protector.

For the side of the Pelicans Monroe can provide the muscle needed alongside Davis.

"Bringing him (Monroe) home to New Orleans, Monroe could add a big man physically capable of playing both sides of the ball," TBW said. "Monroe is currently averaging 16.6PPG, 9.7RPG, and almost a steal and a block per game on 52.1 FG%. He's received a lot of bad press lately, but he was never going to be able to anchor a team's defense. Sorry, that's on the Bucks. On the Pelicans, Anthony Davis has the potential of providing the weak side help Monroe desperately needs."

This trade works on the trade machine, but is still purely speculative at this point.
