"Star Wars" has had theories with Snoke and Darth Vader, but there may be more planned with Kylo Ren

While the whole fandom of "Star Wars" already know who Kylo Ren is and what is origins are, there is still a question pointing to his burning desire to follow his grandfather's footsteps. Director JJ Abrams shares the real motivation of the new Sith lord.

"I never thought of the character as an evil person," said Abrams on The Week UK. "When they think of their actions as morally justified, it makes them dangerous and unpredictable. There's no level they won't go to to accomplish what they're after."

"Kylo Ren idolises Darth Vader, not Anakin Skywalker (Vader's original name)," he added in an interview on IGN. "He idolises what Vader represents and what Vader was trying to do and the idea that Vader didn't succeed, if you look at it from Ren's point of view, he was seduced by the enemy and failed because of that seduction. So the idea is that Ren wants to complete the thing that Vader started."

It wasn't that Kylo Ren, also known as Ben Solo, was completely succumbed by the dark side but the ideas and opportunity his grandfather had was something he wanted to see through. This introduces Snoke, the new Sith lord in the "Star Wars" universe, and his plan to take over the universe with Darth Vader's grandson as his right hand.

However, there are speculations that Kylo Ren was merely a pawn in the greater scheme of things. The young Sith lord was recently shrouded in speculations that he was only being used and Snoke saw Rey's awakening as an opportunity to pull her to the dark side.

According to Movie Pilot, Snoke may have actually wanted Kylo Ren to die in the lightsaber duel he had with Rey after he killed his father. While Kylo Ren may have been trained longer as a Jedi, the mysterious power that Rey possessed was much stronger and much more desirable if she had gone to the dark side.

The new "Star Wars" Sith lord may be under Snoke with the life mission of following Darth Vader, but the character is internally conflicted by the power and potential that he possesses.

"The story for him os one of conflict, not just internal conflict but external conflict. And it's what makes him a rather interesting villain," noted Abrams.

"The Force Awakens" was released in theaters last Dec. 18, 2016.
