Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet became a household name because of the award-winning film "Titanic." They were both young when they did the film and never expected it to become one of the biggest movies in history.
During an interview with Deadline, the 41-year-old actor revealed how the 40-year-old actress convinced him to accept the project.
"Titanic was very much an experiment for Kate Winslet and I," DiCaprio said. "We'd done all of these independent movies. I loved her as an actress and she said, 'Let's do this together, we can do this.' We did it, and it became something that we could've never foreseen.
"We never predicted that it would be what it was, and I said, 'Okay, slow down. Let all these pass a little bit, and let's get back to...find something that...I knew it was going to be an adjustment," Leo explained. "I knew there was an expectation of me to do a certain thing at that point, and I knew I had to get back to what my intentions were from the onset."
After Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet starred as Jack and Rose in "Titanic," both decided to focus on doing films that they love. The former co-stars are both nominated at The Oscars 2016 - Leo for his lead role in "The Revenant" and Kate for her supporting role in "Steve Jobs."
The Hollywood heartthrob has never won any Oscars, but the British beauty thinks that her good friend will finally win the award. There are some famous personalities including Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith who will boycott the Academy Awards for its lack of diversity.
However, Kate Winslet won't be joining the boycott because she wanted to see her "Titanic" co-star Leonardo DiCaprio finally win his first Oscars. She is also there to support the women that were nominated.
"To be honest with you, it has been such an extraordinary year for women I'd feel like I was letting my side down if I didn't go," she told BBC. "And also, I feel very strongly that it may possibly be Leo's year. And he is my closest friend in the world and I just couldn't imagine not being there to support him."
Maybe fans will get to see Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reunite and hopefully sit beside each other at the Oscars on Feb. 28.
