It's already official-Michael Weatherly is leaving "NCIS" at the end of Season 13; but fans continue to speculate on what manner Special Agent Tony DiNozzo will be leaving the show and how the show will write off the character. Worse, will he be killed off?
The reason, as it seems, is Tony DiNozzo's ex-lover: Jeanne Benoit played by Scottie Thompson. For "NCIS" Season 13, Episode 16 titled "Loose Cannons" airing on Feb. 23, Tony DiNozzo will be reuniting with his ex-girlfriend, Jeanne Benoit. Accordingly, DiNozzo will pay Benoit a visit as he will need her help in chasing a lead involving doctors in Sudan.
Benoit is already married but with her involved in two episodes before Weatherly's exit, it seems Benoit is the key to how the network will write off the character of Tony DiNozzo.
According to Design & Trend, since it is already confirmed that Cote de Pablo will not be returning to "NCIS" for Tony's departure, the report suggests that DiNozzo would be leaving the team for Benoit. It added that it's highly possible for DiNozzo and Benoit to reconnect again.
But how could they be together again when Benoit is already married? Design & Trend speculates that it would be either of the following reasons: Benoit's husband may be cheating on her, or Benoit's husband is keeping a huge secret which may lead to his death.
Meanwhile, Michael Weatherly recently celebrated the upcoming 300th episode of "NCIS" in an interview with ET Online.
"I have had the most extraordinary journey and ride," Weatherly told ET. "It's been a hugely gratifying and awesome experience and I pray that when I'm in my old folks rest home-which is only a few years from now-that I will look back on these 300 episodes."
"I'm really most impressed with the audience that found this show and the fans out all around the world who love these characters. If anything, that's what kept this show going," he added.
