Melissa McCarthy not only unveiled her weight during the recent hosting of "SNL," but she drew praises as well for owning most of the sketches.
Among the most praised sketches were the parody on Beyonce and Melissa McCarthy playing a pickup artist named Ronda.
"Ronda's pick-up techniques include putting her hand in a guy's drink and rubbing ice all over him," Victoria Leigh Miller wrote for Yahoo!. "'I like your hair," she says to one guy, before turning to his friend and saying, 'I think you're a piece of crap.' Even SNL regular Leslie Jones couldn't keep a straight face as McCarthy delivered her lines in this hilarious sketch."
In the sketch about Beyonce, which is a parody of Queen Bey's music video "Formation," Melissa McCarthy and the rest of the "SNL" cast did a sketch about the fictional movie "The Day Beyonce Turned Black."
It's about the aftermath of the time when white people realized that Beyonce was indeed black.
"McCarthy knows how to host," Entertainment Weekly said. "She's wacky and fun and so full of energy that she makes even the sleepiest watchers completely forget about the comfy bed waiting for them in the next room. (Raises hand.) And, perhaps most significantly, she can disappear into hilariously absurd characters with ease and skill."
While nobody really mentioned the weight loss as most outlets commented on her funny characters, her appearance at the "SNL" really showed a much thinner Melissa McCarthy.
According to In Touch Weekly, Melissa McCarthy's weight loss regimen-reportedly involving a combination of healthy eating and lots of cardio-caused the actress to drop 75 pounds.
The tabloid claimed that she started slimming down while filming "Spy."
"Melissa never expected to drop all this weight," the alleged source claimed. "She has no intention of losing any more, but if by following the same plan, it drops off, she's not going to complain."
