The latest "Star Wars Battlefront" patch update left many fans disappointed. According to gottabemobile.com, the much-awaited package was 1gb worth of new features but was primarily a bug fix for the game.
The January 1.04 update included Multiplayer modes added to the Tatooine Survival map which had the following modes: Blast, Droid Run, Hero Hunt, Heroes vs Villains, Drop Zone. There were new skins such as Hoth Luke Skywalker and Hoth Han Solo. There was also an additional private match functionality. In addition, daily challenges were added with a setting for actively choosing server site added.
The bug fixes for the game included the following:
- Improved trigger stun animation loop for stun induced attacks
- Melee movement and freezing during the game
- Screen freezes when the At-At appears
- Players getting stuck in rocks fixed
- Inconsistency in speeder bike firing range and motion
- Jakku maps' bugs
Aside from these fixes, fans basically got an administrative update that improved gameplay and flow. Fans were extremely disappointed to hear that the January patch update did not include a new map. It was reported by ecumenicalnews.com that fans were expecting a new map set in Tatooine.
However, it was confirmed by one of the game's designers is that fans will have to wait a little longer for a new map.
Oscar Carlen, the game's lead light designer tweeted this update: "Sorry, but the January update does not contain a new map."
While it's been confirmed that "Star Wars The Force Awakens" won't be featured in the game's upcoming content, fans believe that the studio has prepared for a huge update after this January bug fix.
Many believe that a major upgrade including new maps and characters can be expected. It's been highly rumored that Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku will be appearing in the next patch updates.
