As news of David Bowie's death became prevalent, his son Duncan Jones is actually a burgeoning father himself.
David Robert Jones, more famously known as David Bowie was an English singer-songwriter, visual artist and actor. He passed away on Jan. 10, 2016 at 69 years old after battling cancer of the liver for 18 months.
According to USA Today, Duncan Jones, Bowie's eldest son, revealed on Feb. 10 that he and his wife, Rodene Roquillo will be having a child. Reportedly, the couple already told the news to David Bowie last Christmas, a month before the rock star's death.
Duncan Jones is a film producer, director and screenwriter who is responsible for the upcoming film adaptation of the video game "Warcraft."
Duncan Jones is David Bowie's only child from his marriage with his first wife, Angela. Bowie's 1971 song "Kooks" was said to be inspired by Duncan's birth.
Jones took to Twitter to announce the news despite of David Bowie's recent death.
"1 month since dad died today. Made this card for him at Christmas. Due in June. Circle of life. Love you, granddad," Duncan Jones captioned the tweet which showed a drawing of an unborn baby with a quote balloon saying: "I'm waiting."
Duncan Jones' wife, Rodene also re-tweeted the photo and said: "Shame on those of you who thought I was really fat and didn't say anything. HAHA. ;)." Rodene is a photographer.
Purportedly, David Bowie's widow, Iman was also happy with the news and shared her sentiments towards the couple on Twitter.
David Bowie also had a daughter with supermodel Iman named Alexandria. He was survived by Iman, Duncan Jones and Alexandria.
Duncan Jones is best known for his directorial debut, "Moon." The film is science fiction and had won the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
In recent news, remaining Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Pat Smear and Krist Novoselic together with Beck, covered the David Bowie hit "The Man Who Sold the World" at the annual pre-Grammy party.
