Christian Today reported that there were rumors that an announcement for "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be made during this year's Entertainment Electronic Expo. But according to various reports, Rockstar Games will continue to focus on their much profitable game "GTA."
It has not been long since the Xbox One backward compatibility version of "Red Dead Redemption" has been made available, which was pulled out a few days after. Gospel Herald noted that Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hyrb admitted it was a mistake and that "due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available."
But although this was the case, fans of "Red Dead Redemption 2" has already been asking for a sequel.
The upsurge of demand from hardcore fans is already an indication that its publisher should also consider focusing on the said game. In addition to Christian Today's report, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take Two Interactive, mentioned about "Red Dead Redemption" being a profitable franchise and that it would be staying for quite some time just like "Grand Theft Auto."
"I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It's obvious that 'GTA' is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that 'Red Dead' is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or 'Borderlands,' for example, and 'NBA' and others."
Details of the highly anticipated sequel are still unknown. But in a Gospel Herald report, a release date of October 2016 with a speculated game title of "Red Dead Revolution" will be most likely for the sequel.
For the meantime, fans should probably focus on the upcoming Entertainment Electronic Expo on June and just wait what Rockstar Games has been up to with "Red Dead Redemption 2."
