News had already hinted on the upcoming release of the next Nexus but no final release date has been confirmed by Google.

In line with these rounding news, Yibada spotted several deals from Amazon which slashed off Nexus devices' prices to a significant level, Christian Post reported.

The 32 GB Nexus 6 smartphone can now be bought at $349.99 which is almost half its original price while the Nexus 9 tablet was slashed 25 percent off its launching price.

It is speculated that these discounts are made to deplete the remaining stocks and are part of the scheme which aims to properly promote the next Nexus phone unveiling this year.

The report also claims that the Nexus 2016 may possibly be launched sometime in May as this will be Google's 10th Annual I/O Developers Conference.

Though the majority of its specifications are still unknown, the new Nexus is predicted to run on an Android N OS, which may come as "Nougat" or "Nutella" by name, The Bitbag reported.

The report furthermore elaborated details of the new Android OS and stated that Android and Chrome UX director Glen Murphy already confirmed features that would equip the upcoming OS with a work-friendly platform.

"There are many things, like multi-window, that we've been spending a lot of time on - hopefully, we can share more about this soon. We're working on lots of things right now for N that, of course, we wish we had, you know, yesterday... But we'd spoil the surprise of N if we shared all of them. Split screen is in the works!"

It seems that Google, despite not confirming anything, has already created a build-up of anticipation for the next Nexus, packed with a lot of features consumers should watch out. Will this new device create a significant lead for Google?
