The "Fifty Shades of Grey" launched Dakota Johnson to household name status, but there's a downside to fame and that's the difficulty of going on the dating scene after her split from boyfriend Matthew Hitt.
In an interview with The Telegraph, she shared that men suddenly has a different image of her in their head.
"I don't know why. You tell me," she said. "I think I'm a fairly approachable person."
Dakota Johnson hinted that the reason she's having a hard time dating anybody following the split from Matthew Hitt was due to her role as Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey," who readily submitted to the BDSM demands of Christian Grey.
"Some people think this is something I'm interested in in my private life, which is not the case," she added. "I'm an actor - I pretend. But I guess it's something that happens with a lot of actors: people think that in real life they are like the characters they play."
But the pretty 26-year-old is the first to admit that "Fifty Shades of Grey" changed her life. The biggest, of course, was her split from Matthew Hitt who just couldn't cope with all the hype surrounding the movie, according to the report.
Dakota Johnson also said that sometimes she couldn't help feeling lonely because she's single, but then she found a way to cope.
"I just watch movies and read books and I'm happy I have the time to do those things. I cherish my solitude," she added.
Nevertheless, is Dakota Johnson looking to replace boyfriend Matthew Hitt with anybody else? No such luck as the "Fifty Shades Darker" actress said that she's been very busy with her career following the split that there's not time to pursue other interests.
She said, "Luckily I've such a distraction in my job at the moment that I don't think about men very often. All of my focus is on my job."
