Sad news for "Dawson's Creek" fans, Katie Holmes herself has pointed out that she wouldn't be a part of a reboot or reunion of the 90s teen TV series if it does happen anytime soon.
Talking on the "Today" show, the Joey Potter actress insisted that a new version of the beloved TV series may not hit as it did when it started airing in 1998.
"That feel's so long ago," she responded when asked about the TV series. "A hundred years ago."
But then she reportedly crushed the hearts of fans when she explained why a reboot was not happening at all.
"When I look back on the show, it had a certain charm," the 37-year-old actress was quoted in saying by Vanity Fair. "It was before the Internet really took over, it was before iPhones, it was before this kind of new form of communication, and it had this certain feeling that was of the '90s. I don't think that in today's world, you could achieve that same kind of feeling."
The statement was a complete opposite of Katie Holmes' thoughts about a "Dawson's Creek" reunion back in July 2015. Back then, she said in the news that it was still possible.
"I think we'd all have a really great time doing it," she pointed out back then "Good Morning America" as quoted by Metro.
Just like the "Touched With Fire" actress, James Van Der Beek also crushed possibilities of a reboot in 2014 saying he has been wanting to be out of the show even before it ended.
"I kind of hoped it would grind those wheels to a halt in terms of getting asked about it," he explained parade.condenast.com as cited by the Belfast Telegraph at the time. "Kevin [Williamson, Dawson's creator] said very eloquently that it's not going to happen. As flattering as it is that anybody cares about work I did ten or 12 years ago..."
Just like Katie Holmes and James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson has also left "Dawson's Creek" in the past. Michelle Williams, on the other hand, still looked forward to a reunion.
