Whether or not "The Last of Us 2" will be confirmed in the near future or not, fans will continue to speculate its plot and release date online.
There have been too little information disclosed as of writing, but speculations just keep on pouring. Among the new rumors circulating claime that Joel and Ellie could possibly not return to the sequel as Naughty Dog should explore making a multiplayer game instead.
"As I've mentioned before, multiplayer is never really something we focus on with Naughty Dog's products," Movie Pilot noted. "I for one can't wait to see what Nathan Drake gets up to in Uncharted 4. Multiplayer with this game is an after thought, even though I enjoyed the beta. But it's different with The Last of Us 2."
"While I may discuss my desire to see Joel and Ellie out of the picture for the sequel, or see Naughty Dog move the setting of the game outside of the Untied States, multiplayer is a priority for The Last of Us 2," the article continued. "I'm a huge fan of stealth in video games, and being granted the opportunity to employ stealth tactics in an online framework is quite the dream!"
Previous reports claimed of a new ray of hope has glimmered as the rumored title of the new game has been released online.
"Back in December of 2015, Sony filed a new trademark titled 'Days Gone,'" Movie Pilot reported. "Some have speculated that this will be that this will be the new subtitle for The Last of Us 2, making it 'The Last Of Us 2: Days Gone.'"
"First, this is something coming from Sony, instead of some supposed 'leak' from a voice actor. or a developer stumbling over their words. Also it's not an accident, you don't accidentally trademark something. Something called 'Days Gone' is coming, we just don't know what it is yet."
