With Chester Bennington back in the full lineup of Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda recently revealed that they are working on full time for the their new album release, which would be a follow up to "The Hunting Party."

In a report by Blabbermouth, Shinoda revealed how the band has a lot of new materials ready and talked about how they are experimenting with their sound that could possibly give them a new direction.

"I've been on a tear in the studio right now with the band," he said about the new Linkin Park album. "We've been making so much new material... A lot of this stuff is, we're just kind of experimenting a lot with all the different directions the band can go."

Furthermore, he talked about how they are focusing on melodies as they have a few songs in line for the new Linkin Park album.

"We're just... really heavily focusing on the melodies. Some of the music is coming together here and there but it's really, right now, more about the words and melodies. So I don't actually know what the sound of the record is going to be like yet."

Last year, Bennington told Rolling Stone how he is completely focused on recording of new Linkin Park materials after he left Stone Temple Pilots.

"The last few years have been an amazing experience," Bennington said. "I got to create and perform with one of the greatest rock bands of our generation, that had so much influence on me growing up. With the amount of time STP deserves, in addition to being in Linkin Park, and with the needs of my family, one of them always seems to fall short."

"And in all fairness to my bandmates in Linkin Park, as well as to myself and to my family, I'm going to focus solely on Linkin Park so I can contribute 100 percent. It's been an amazing experience and a dream come true, and I look forward to the future of both STP and Linkin Park."
