As news of singer-actress Lady Gaga sporting a David Bowie tattoo breaks the internet, her Grammy performance also gathered mixed reaction from Bowie fans and from his son, Duncan Jones.

According to news from Out, Lady Gaga got her David Bowie tattoo right before her Grammy performance, fresh off her Golden Globe win. Legendary tattoo artist Mark Mahoney did Mother Monster's Bowie rib piece.

Remaining Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear together with Beck also paid tribute to David Bowie by rendering "The Man Who Sold the World," as reported by Rolling Stone.

Accordingly, Beck and the rest of Nirvana played their tribute at Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party. Nirvana also covered the Bowie hit during their MTV Unplugged session.

Beck also had a history of covering David Bowie's songs throughout his career. He did a rendition of "Diamond Dogs," "Sound and Vision," "Let's Dance," "Win" and "Fame" over the years.

Meanwhile, Duncan Jones took to Twitter to express his reaction towards Lady Gaga's David Bowie tribute performance.

"Overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused." Damn it! What IS that word!?," Jones tweeted.

According to Telegraph, Duncan Jones' reaction sparked both outrage and sympathy to Lady Gaga and even David Bowie fans.

Darcy Bennett tweeted, "Surely the man is entitled to his opinion. Especially considering it's about his father."

According to The Guardian, Lady Gaga's Grammy tribute performance for David Bowie was produced by former Bowie collaborator, Nile Rodgers together with Intel. Gaga sang and danced to a medley of Bowie's 70's and 80's songs including "Space Oddity" and "Under Pressure."

"Just because the tribute wasn't weepy or an all-star extravaganza doesn't mean her one-woman show didn't work," said Natalie Finn of E! News.

"He is a true, true artist, and that's what drew me to him," Lady Gaga said pertaining to David Bowie, just days before the news broke out his death.
