The NBA trade deadline is tomorrow, yet all the rumors about superstars Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant or Carmelo Anthony putting on new uniforms have not come to fruition.
But other less than heralded players like Taj Gibson and Pau Gasol, for instance are also not immune from all the NBA trade rumors.
Brian Windhorst of ESPN tweeted, "Bulls have taken some calls on Pau Gasol but aren't actively shopping him, sources told ESPN."
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, however, is singing another tune as he claimed that the Bulls are actively pursuing a Gasol trade.
"Bulls general manager Gar Forman seems determined to move him before Thursday's trade deadline with the hope of bringing back value," he wrote. "Gasol is expected to decline the player option on the $7.4 million owed him in 2016-17."
Although Gasol is still very effective as he averages a double-double (17 points and 10.9 rebounds) for the Bulls, at 35 years old his skills are at a decline.
Meanwhile, Taj Gibson remains confident that he will stay in the Bulls uniform after the Feb. 18 NBA trade deadline despite all the rumors circulating around.
As KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reported in a tweet, quoting Gibson, "Coach and I were texting and I told him I believe in him. I believe he's a great coach and I believe in his system. It just takes time"
The Toronto Raptors are believed to be the frontrunners in acquiring the services of the big man.
"Chicago and Toronto had initial discussions on a Taj Gibson-Patrick Patterson swap that would give Chicago yet another stretch power forward and trim its tax bill," he wrote..But those discussions appear to have led nowhere so far."
The NBA trade deadline is just 14 hours away and so far all the rumors have been proven to be false, so these are usually taken with a grain of salt.
