Irish tennis ace Andy Murray and artist Kim Sears have named their baby daughter, Sophia Olivia and as a result, some of the gamblers are reportedly laughing all the way to the bank, or at least on the way to their bookies.

"The couple, who are both 28, had announced the birth more than a week ago," said BBC News.

Baby Sophia Olivia weighed 8lbs 10oz at birth, and "is believed to be at home with her parents in Surrey."

Meanwhile, bookies reportedly paid big bucks who correctly predicted that Andy Murray and Kim Sears would name their baby daughter Sophia.

"Ladbrokes said it is already paying out 'a fortune' in winnings to those who put money on the name," reported Mirror.

"The firm said a 'handful of shrewd punters' backed the name into 5/1 from 40/1 before it decided to close the book, with those gamblers now collecting thousands in winnings."

Among the other names that gamblers bet on that Andy Murray and Kim Sears would pick for their baby include Alexandra, Grace, Elizabeth and Freya.

"We've been served an ace by punters and it looks like Sophia is already following in her father's footsteps by taking the bookies to the cleaners," Ladbrokes' David McDonald said.

Although Ladbrokes has paid a fortune for gamblers who correctly picked the name of Kim Sears' baby, it revealed another game in town: whether or not Andy Murray's baby would eventually win the Wimbledon.

The odds for that bet are 500/1.

Meanwhile, Ellen Murray told BBC, per Hello, that Andy Murray phoned her to share the news about Kim Sears successfully delivering their baby daughter.

"He told me the baby was 8lb 10oz when she was born. It's wonderful news," she said. "I don't really know about her name yet but I hope we'll see them all soon. I'll be looking forward to a cuddle."
