The long wait is over as Columbia Pictures finally released a "Ghostbusters 3" teaser trailer.

The 28-second clip featured cops and soldiers preparing to go to war with most probably the ghosts invading the streets of New York.

The sneak peek also revealed the release date of the full trailer, which is on March 3. Around two weeks from now, people will get a chance to see the female lead stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones wearing the classic brown jumper and carrying a proton pack.

Not much was revealed in the "Ghostbusters 3" teaser except that the city seems to be in danger. So who could be invading New York?

In a previous report from ET, the female ghostbusters will be fighting dead criminals from different eras.

"Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth," the website revealed.

Upon hearing the news that the "Game of Thrones" actor Charles Dance will be appearing in the reboot, rumors started coming out that he'll portray the leaders of the ghosts.

The 69-year-old actor is known for his villain roles including GOT's Tywin Lannister.

"He may not be the best candidate to reprise Gozer the Gozerian, the villain from the 1984 original. But he could make a satisfying update to Vigo the Carpathian from the unfairly maligned 1989 sequel," Inverse reported.

It took more than 30 years before the producers decided to do another "Ghostbusters" movie and instead of doing a sequel, they decided to do a reboot. Die-hard fans were disappointed to hear that the original cast which includes Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver.

Thankfully, Paul Feig was able to convince the original cast to make an appearance in "Ghostbusters 3." Check out the teaser below and make sure watch out for the full trailer on March 3.
