"Mob Wives" reality TV star Angela Raiola, popularly known as Big Ang, has lost her battle to cancer earlier Thursday morning. The 55-year old star purportedly died at 3:01 a.m., according to E! Online.

A Twitter post by a representative of Big Ang also confirmed the sad news.

"It is with sad regret that we inform you that at 3:01 a.m. Angelia Raiola peacefully ended her battle with cancer, and was called home," the statement, posted on Twitter, read, according to E!.

"She was surrounded by nothing but love from her immediate family, and the closest friends. YOU, (her fans) were some of the most special people in the world, and she loved you immensely. Thank you for your love, prayers, and unconditional support of Angela right to the very end."

Big Ang first had her fight with cancer in April 2015, when she underwent surgery to remove a tumor in her throat. Unfortunately last month, she was diagnosed with stage four cancer of the brain and lungs, as per Fox News' report.

A self-confessed chain smoker for 40 years, the "Mob Wives" matriarch reportedly told People that she immediately stopped smoking after learning of her malignant throat tumor last year.

Daily News also noted that the doctors told her that the possible cause of Big Ang's cancer was smoking and that she urged people to quit it as soon as possible.

Jennifer Graziano, a representative to Bing Ang and the family, also released a statement,

"I am saddened to say that at 3:01 a.m. Ang lost her battle with cancer," Graziano said of the "Mob Wives" star, according to E! Online.

"She passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family. My heart is broken for her whole family - especially her children and grandchildren and I will never forget her. Her presence brought sheer happiness to anyone that was around her and I am honored to have called her a friend. Please respect her family's privacy at this time as they mourn the loss of such an amazing woman."

"Mob Wives" is now in its final season and will definitely not be the same with their matriarch gone.
