After the success of the hit movie "Big Hero 6," majority anticipated for an installment in a year or so.

Though a confirmation for a sequel was already out the past months, which according to Cinema Blend will be happening as long as a good story is presented, none might have perceived that the movie series will actually be adapted into a TV series later.

But 2016 is too soon for its launch date. According to Entertainment Weekly, the Oscar Award-winning movie will debut on Disney XD by 2017. The TV series will continue what was left of the movie originally and will further develop in the adventures of Hiro, his supposedly medical robot Baymax, and the rest of the team.

Hiro, who has already made a name for himself at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, will face "daunting academic challenges and the social trials of being the little man on campus. Off campus, the stakes are raised for the high-tech heroes as they must protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains."

Meanwhile, Executives at Disney are more than proud of the development the series has went through.

"Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a world class animated series - full of fun, action and the kind of endearing storytelling that only Mark, Bob - and Baymax - can deliver," said Gary Marsh, Disney Channel Worldwide President.

It is said that the new series will be produced by Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley, creators of the hit TV Animation series "Kim Possible," and Nick Filippi.

Final release date in 2017 is yet to be revealed as the TV Animation Series is still undergoing developments as of the moment.
