Game producer Eiji Aonum revealed last month that a 2015 release for "The Legend of Zelda" is no longer their number one priority as of the moment.

"I have come to think that rather than work with meeting a specific schedule as our main objective... I feel strongly that our focus should be to bring all these ideas to life in a way that will make 'The Legend of Zelda' on Wii U the best game it can possibly be," Aonuma stated.

"So, I must apologize to you all that were expecting the game by year's end, but we are no longer making a 2015 release our number one priority. Instead, our priority is to make it the most complete and ultimate 'Zelda' game," he added.

The developers' goal to make the ultimate installment for the game series is understandable. However, the delay is still a major issue for both gamers and for Nintendo's business. Although the Japanese game publisher may have seen a rise in its shares on the news through its latest mobile development, the sales for its Wii U home console remains considerably low.

However, there are others who think that a rushed "Zelda" game may possibly be even more damaging than the delay in its release. It might be good that Nintendo is taking their time to develop one of their most revered and highest rated game in history.

"Xenoblade Chronicles X" may replace "The Legend of Zelda" as the most-anticipated Wii U game of 2015. Game Informer issued a discussion post where their readers voted on the Wii U titles they were looking forward to this year.

Monolith Soft's game, which is set for release in Japan by the end of next month, topped the chart. It was followed by "Star Fox," "Splatoon," "Yoshi's Wooly World" and "Devil's Third," which comprised the top five highly-anticipated Wii U games in lieu of "The Legend of Zelda."
